Apply to be a Service-Learning Teaching Assistant

The Office of Community-University Partnerships & Service-Learning (CUPS) is now accepting Service-Learning TA applications for Fall 2014.

What is an SL-TA?

The SL-TA Program trains students from all academic backgrounds to support UVM faculty members teaching service-learning courses. SL-TAs work approximately 5 hours per week, and may receive a stipend (up to $750), work-study or academic credit for their service. In addition to receiving training in service-learning theory and practice, SL-TAs typically:

  • Help prepare students to undertake service-learning projects;
  • Serve as a liaison between the course and its community partners;
  • Create and evaluate critical reflection assignments; and/or
  • Manage service-learning projects.
